Tinca Veerman
Tinca Veerman frequently works on location, drawing inspiration from nature. While walking, collecting, and photographing, she gathers both materials and impressions from her surroundings, transforming them into new creations. Despite the turbulence of our times, she continues to find and highlight beauty. In the studio, the collected chaos gradually evolves into vivid and intricate collages—sometimes large and layered, sometimes small and delicate—alongside videos and fabric works.
“For me, isolation in nature is both a challenge and an essential part of the creative process. It allows me to experience the world’s simplicity, reconnecting with a sense of boundless freedom. Like sailing on a boat, dropping the anchor, or arriving at a harbour, I simply work with what nature provides—while feeling the wind, the rain, the shifting landscape. Although these days can be overwhelming with all the horrific news that is thrown at us, my work is still about, revealing the beauty that often goes unnoticed but is essential for a healthy mind.”
